The Heart Chakra Too
The Heart Chakra is associated with love.
The task of chakra four is to integrate and balance the various aspects of our being.
Living in balance is living in a state of grace, of delicacy, of gentleness. Love is that which endures, and likewise, what is done with love will endure. That which is out of balance will not endure. Only by being balanced within ourselves can we hope to balance the world.
In the body this chakra relates to the cardiac plexus and rules over the heart, lungs, and thymus gland. Just as each chakra can be seen as a disk of swirling energy, so, too, can the entire body/mind be seen as a chakra. If we follow a path from the crown chakra, spiraling through each center, we find that the heart is the endpoint of the spiral – the center, the destination.
Love is not a matter of getting connected; it is a matter of seeing that we already are connected within an intricate web of relationships that extends throughout life. It is a realization of “no boundaries” – that we are all made of the same essence, riding through time on the same planet, faced with the same problems, the same hopes and fears. It is a connection at the core that makes irrelevant skin color, age, sex, looks, or money.

We have ALL experienced the pain of being hurt, trashed, and beaten-up. One of my favorite sayings is by Gandhi: “The person who has experienced great pain and sorrow, is able to have more compassion for those who are suffering”. A closed heart chakra is from too much self-absorption, self-focus, and self-pity. Get beyond yourself! Get involved with others. Volunteer at your church, or within a social organization that needs help. At this chakra level you need to become aware of the “vibrations, magnetism, or resonance” that you feel when you are around others. Spirit will begin to provide you with “synchronicities” that will attract or direct you to people or events that are beneficial for your evolution as a soul.
